Upload main image here:  I was delighted for Johan Elmander when he got his goal on the weekend       | We were delighted to take three points from the weekend´s game against Middlesbrough. After losing at home to Liverpool it was just what we needed and I was made up to see [Johan] Elmander getting on the scoresheet. I know Boro´s manager, Gareth Southgate, very well from my time at Aston Villa. He wasn’t one of the players I hung out with but I looked up to him a lot. When I was much younger and coming up through the youth system he was always on hand to give me advice and he was always there to talk to. He was a great player and he was captain of the side so I had a lot of respect for him. He was the consummate professional.  We feel like we have got the goods to get another win on the road Those aspects of Gareth´s character are what makes him such a good manager. There are some great youngsters coming through at Boro and I know that he´ll be giving them the same kind of advice that he gave me. He is always there for you, he´ll listen to you and take your points on board. I´ll always have a lot of respect for Gareth. With Sunderland coming up we feel like we have got the goods to get another win on the road. We´re confident and just looking forward to it really! I´ll be back soon with more. Bye for now.    |
